WtaWorld.com's Open Letter to Monica Seles- Please come in
You been an inspiration to our lives on a weekly and yearly basis. You have demonstrated the heart and determination of a true champion by overcoming several obstacles in your life. As your fans, we are happy with your willingness to compete despite the obvious injury, and we are thrilled with your grace and professionalism on and off the court whether you win or lose.
Monica, we have concern about your health and career. We know you can still with the best of the best and feel there is bigger success waiting for you in your career. As true fans we would love to see you have the surgery and come back to fulfill the goals that you still have. We are aware of time and the patience it requires and acknowledge the fact, that no matter what we feel, the decision is a personal one and only you can decide what is right for you.
Please take into consideration modern technology and all its benefits. There are perfect examples witnessed today on the tour. Lindsay Davenport and Chanda Rubin both had a similar operation and came back healthy in shape and are both reaching new heights in their careers. Chanda has recently won a title and last year, she met Lindsay in the final in Los Angeles. Chanda is now seeing some of the best tennis of her career.
Yes you may be at the crossroads in your life, but for the past years, tennis has been a gem in both our lives. We should not end it this way. You have bought smiles of joy and you deserve much more than just walking away from the thing that bought us together. We want you to return from the operation and give us one last look of your talent and style. There is no other that can take your place, and you have to believe us when we say we love you and will be here to support you when you return.
For us, we want to see the sweet song of Monica Seles and tennis end on a high note and have a great sendoff. We love you and wish you the very best.

When I think of life, sometimes my response is "Oh Damn!". But I still think of life anyway, "Oh Damn!!!"
