Why don't they just hand out stones at Roland Garros?
I didn't like it when they booed Martina in 1999, but at least she had behaved brattily by crossing the net. Serena did nothing wrong, she stopped play on one ball when the ball was out (which any player would have done) and she pointed out (truthfully) that Justine held up her hand in the middle of her service motion. The crowd then went on to boo her every move.
I was rooting for Justine to win this match originally, but the behavior of the crowd disgusted me. I enjoy crowd participation in a match, but this totally unprovoked booing was just vicious.
WHy don't they just hand out stones to the crowd in Paris so they can make sure their favorites win?
