Will Justine fall into the same trap as Momo?

Amelie Mauresmo came to Paris full of confidence after having posted a recent clay court win over SERENA in Rome, but was handed a devestating defeat at the hands of the Michigan Mauler from which she may never fully recover.

Now it is Justine's turn to see if she can channel her recent win confidene to something more productive against SERENA. Justine leads their clay court matchups 2-1, but none of those matches have been contested on the clay of Roland Garros which SERENA has laid claim to as her own.

Overall, SERENA leads the head to head against Henin 4-2 and she is not playing in Paris the way that she did in Charlston.

This match should be much better than SERENA'S quarter final competition, but the results should still come out as another win for SERENA.

Well....maybe it would if this was played in Belgium....but considering Justine has really no pressure on her....I don't think it'll be a problem. Serena will be blown away in two easy sets 6-0 6-0. My prediction. Believe it.

I just like Michigan Mauler and yeah, methinks nothing gets between herself and a grand slam. she's rather lazy in regular tourneys but she's serious as hell at the majors.

LOL Rtael!

And Conchita will work her lazy ass back into the top ten.

Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

I don't know if Justine will have the same fate as Amelie, but I know that Serena will definitely have to play tomorrow like she played yesterday if she wants to get back to the final. And contrarly to popular belief, I think she will play Petrova. Unlike Amelie, she hasn't played like she was nervous and she can keep pace with the top players. The only thing I think may hurt her game is if this will be her first match on centre court because that could overwhelm her.

First match is Kim vs. Petrova.

Justine has had her problems with nerves. I don't believe they have been as serious as Mauresmo. I HOPE it will be a closer match. I thought it was painful watching Mauresmo play. Maybe go three sets, with Serena pulling out in the third.

Not only will nerves be an issue (with both players, I think), Justine will go into the match knowing she has lost two Grand Slam semifinals and a Grand Slam final to Venus. True, they were not on clay, but they were still losses in big matches.

Justine will choke on the big stage, like Amelie unfortunately did

but that was venus. I think venus is a bigger problem for justine then serena

I still go with a 6:3 6:2 too for serena though especially when she has the face (maybe she likes king verkerk)

Justine will give a good account of herself but will eventually succumb to the Michigan Mauler's pressure.

Yep.....good to see Vee on the go.

Justine won't be so nervous as Momo (i hope) and the big prob with Momo, I think, was her (second) serve and Justine takes more riscs on that so it will be a totally different match. Justine also can relpace her game into defense why Momo, imo, wanted to play her game to much (I hope it's clear what I mean )

I'm not gonna say Justine is going to win this but she sure has a good chance to do

Roland Garros '03,'05,'06,'07
US Open '03,'07 / Australian Open '04
Olympic Gold '04 /
YEC Madrid '06,'07

I think Justine playing second is a disadvantage too especially when kim wins. then she knows a whole nation wants a belgian final wich means more pressure!
