If Serena wins the Frenc Open....

If Serena can manage to beat Henin and then beats Clijsters in the final (assuming Kim makes it), I think compared to all of Serena's grand slam wins, that this will be the most emphatic.

The thing is Serena has had a brilliant year, so this is the year where every player wants to beat her badly etc etc. If Serena can beat Henin and Clijsters, not only will it be her 5 consecutive slam, but she will have beaten the last 3 players to have beaten her - AND it will be on her worst surface.... I cant think of any more impressive way to claim your 5th straight slam.

I do sympathise with the old chorus of "its not good for the womens tour to have one dominant player', but on the other hand, it is kinda cool watching someone demolish everyone else so easily - as Martina Nav used to say when asked endlessly about whether her dominance was 'good for the game' of tennis - Martina would answer back with "well my playing worse is not going to help the tour either'...

Beating the top 3 players on clay and the last 3 to beat her would be pretty emphatic. It would also look better in the history books if she was seen to beat someone other than her sister in a final again. Kim and Justine will take some beating though assuming Kim gets there.

Instead of having to beat two williams sisters in a slam, now you gotta beat the two belgians! good luck serena...

Good Luck Radwanska Sisters!

I think it will be a competitive final, (though I'm glad its not an all William one ).
However, I think the best player will win on the day, whoever that will be.
Who would have thought even 2 years ago that Belgians would dominate tennis so

We will miss you Kim!.

Best of Luck in 2007 to: Kim & Bryan, Lleyton, Alicia, Todd, Sam, Chris, Casey, Wayne, Kirsten & all the other Aussies & injured players.

How "perceptive" of you to come up with "who'll win the French...!!! And, what's even "better than no all-Williams final, is no all-Belgian final, huh...???

I think Nav would feel a lil threatened that her 6 consecutive slam wins record just might be broken.

I just hope whoever plays against Serena
can make it an entertaining 3 setter with
tie break, so we don't have to hear or read
about how there's no depth in women's tennis.
It's bad for the sport for a white-wash final.

Beyond all that's been mentioned there's one other thing-the chance at a grand slam. This is the toughest one for Serena because of the surface. If she takes the French the slam talk will build to a roar at Wimbledon and the US.

She's got a shot at history, and don't think she doesn't know it.

It would be interesting if two Belgiums dominated tennis, but I don't see it happening. It's so funny how people are taking a couple of months during the clasy season as domination of the tour...LOL

One down two to go.

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

LOL, a couple of months during the clay season??
I don't think you have an idea of Kim's record sofar. Of the last 10 tournaments she played before RG, she played 8 finals and 2 semifinals. She won 5 tournaments (masters, 2 tier I, 2 tier II). In 2003, she has a 41 - 5 record. 95 % of the matches she wins are in two sets. I think that this clearly indicates that she is a dominant factor in current women tennis just as Serena is.
And Justine is certainly third with a 34 - 5 record this year.

Yeah, It would be interesting match in the next two round of Serena and It's really tough for her to beat both belgians but after Serena proved me by beated Momo in two set in showed me that Serena has deserved to crownd this Grandslam.
