I rekon that the reason for Venus and Jenns lose it simply becuase its a clay court. They are not use to it, not their fav. surface, love fast courts. Any ohter surface and you know, probably a straight sets win for both of them. It wouldn't suprise me if both players became very pumped up from this match and met in the Wimbledon finals. It would be a big turn around.
Or it could be these two players, Petrova and Zvavonavera (whatever the spelling) are just having amazing weeks playing completely out of their skin. Just like Rubin in L.A, wins over Davenport, Dokic and Serena. Or Sugiyama in Scottsdale, wins over Davenport and Clijisters. Happens in the mens tour too, all these clay court- Europeans specailsits play great then you don't hear about them for the rest of the year, e.g Costa. Felix Mantillia also had a great week at the Rome Masters, beating good players on clay, then got slaughtered the next week at the French Open.
Jenn and Venus were just in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Except a re-bound.
