economical top pro

there has been talk about venus and her strings.

she says she uses her racquets until the strings break. adding that she likes to be economical and she recycles her strings..ok that recycling strings bit sounds like a good idea....you have all this money and you're trying to win grand slams......mali vali commented on this issue during her match against vera saying "it looks like she's using racquets that have strings that have been there for a couple of months"

..clearly...2 me...venus isn't interested in winning anymore...playing tennis in general...she would rather be full time ms. trading spaces....

rofl... ms. trading spaces...

well, yanno, she's always said tennis isn't her life but her livelihood. playing tennis well allowed her to open her business (well yanno... getting reebok to notice her enough to sign her to that $40 mil deal). sometimes our priorities and passions change. like I used to like baseball and now I prefer football. Serena says she's insatiable but I think Venus is as well. She wants everything; a successful business, happiness, grand slams and being able to pursue all of these her own way. I have no idea what's going on with Venus but no doubt she'll win again. She just has to make a decision about her game; will she improve it or remain the same and hope for the best?

back to the racquet strings; Venus is extremely frugal... I think that's just part of the Williams' philosophy... they never forget where they come from. But surely homegirl could afford to get her racquets restrung...

Williams x2 Clijsters Golovin Ivanovic Li Jackson
Federer Blake Fish Roddick Grosjean Bryans x2

"they never forget were they come from"
