What's Up With Bud Collins?

Has anyone else noticed that Bud Collins is never shown in the same room as the players when he does the post match interviews? You hear his voice, but they never show him. I'm assuming that he isn't even in the same room as the player he's interviewing? Why not? Is he sick?

well Venus and Serena appear like they were looking at someone while talking so I believe he's in the room. Unlike when Serena talks to Chris, who's at the terrace, she looks directly in front of the camera like she's talking to the viewers as well.

I do believe that NBC wants to appear like it has sane people working for them so they've decided to not allow the viewers to see Bud's atrocious fashion decisions. Every time, we're forced to look at his tie-dyed pants and bow-tie combonation, GE stocks plummet .05. It cost NBC millions of dollars last year and we don't want the Friend's cast to not receive their million per show, now do we?

I got the impression that Venus and Serena weren't looking at a real person. I think they were directed to look at a spot on the wall, or perhaps there's a monitor in the room with a live shot of Bud doing the interview from someplace else. I'd be surprised if NBC is actually embarassed by Bud's pants. They are letting him do some roving reports from various locations at Roland Garros. And he's wearing some wild pants (which I like). But, for some reason, they aren't letting him do one on one post match interviews? At least it looks that way.
