Is American television ever going to show Petrova versus Capriati?

It's amazing that NBC left the air and didn't even say that Capriati lost. And their showing taped matches instead of much better live matches was dissapointing. After Serena won the first set, NBC should have fast forwarded through the second set and onto some live action.

I guess ESPN will eventually show some of Petrova's upset of Capriati. But by then it will be old news.

There is no need for ESPN to show Venus again when NBC already did...they should be showing Jen since we have not seen any of her match yet

VENUS. ANA, TAY TAY. NICOLE. LAURA. KONJUH. MADISON

SERENA. MUGU. VIKA. PETKO. CARO. TIMEA. SVETA. HEATHER. KAIA. TAMIRA. FLAVIA. GEORGI. COCO. LUCIE, SLOANE. PENG. SORANA. ALICIA. JAEDA. CICI. ANETT. DANKA. DONNA. FRANCOISE.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. SHENAY. DINARA. GISELA. SPREM.

You don`t want to see that match, cat! It was a great match with many rallies and heavy groundstrokes but the wrong player won. Petrowa played great! Jen, too, but Petrowa was the lucky one!

No, espn is showing Venus losing.. for the 2nd time today ..... I really don't think that ANYONE would rather see Venus lose TWICE, then some of the other, more (IMO) exciting matches of the day?!?! (ie Chanda's, Justine's, basically all the other matches)

ESPN was already scheduled to show Venus, but after NBC showed it I did not see the reason they showed it. I guess they were excited by her losing.

Of course they were not going to show Capriati losing. ESPJEN did not want to show the capster getting eliminated. So I guess showing Lindsay going out to an injury a better option for them.

If ESPN was showing a different part of Vera - Venus match, I could live with it. But they are showing the exact same third set that NBC showed! LMAO! Except it really isn't funny.

And GermanBoy, I do want to see the Petrova - Capriati match.

They should definitely show it, it was a humdinger of a match - admittedly, the tempo of the rallies was varied about twice by both players, but never has sustained baseline crunching looked so impressive. They pointed out here on Eurosport that it was probably the only time in her career where Capriati has played the best she can and yet still emerged the loser. She did take her foot off the pedal a little when she had in the break in the last set, but it was really Petrova who out-powered her in the strength of her shots and the strength of her mind. She really wanted this win today.

The twits at NBC and ESPN are gonna show the Vera-Venus match until next year probably. The way the media is talking, you would think that Venus was the only player upset.

Me too, cat. I want to see Nadia play and win! It's so unexpected and exciting! I am thrilled for her, especially after all the injuries she has been through.

Janie, Nadia has overcome alot of injuries. Now if she could stay healthy for a couple of years, she might develope into a top player.

Maybe ESPN will follow NBC's lead and now show the third and final set of Agassi's match.

Well, they're showing it now. They only showed the last set of Vera-Venus; they are showing two sets of Cappy-Petrova.

ESPN and NBC don't have a deal to mete coverage between themselves; as far as ESPN is concerned, NBC doesn't show coverage and vice versa. I see these complaints didn't come until Venus and Cappy lost . . . they did the same thing yesterday when both won.

Now we get to see Nadia! I like what I see so far. I know she will lose this 2nd set, but it will be worth the wait to see her take set 3.

Nadia has now risen to #1 on my Favorite Russians list! (Yes, I admit I am fickle! But I like players with GUTS!!!!)

I assumed when they showed the Venus match on ESPN that either A)Cappy was shown on NBC and I missed it or ...she won and they wanted to show the upset. I can't believe that they didn't show Cap on NBC or ESPN. I've never seen Petrova before :-(

Damn Russians :-)

For once, it is not ESPN's fault. NBC should be showing live coverage because they payed money to transmit the weekends. If ESPN were showing it today, it would be live and we would see both matches.

ugh, why do they all suck????????
