I agree everything what has been said in this thread. Venus lacks confidence. I remember 1998 to 2001 times... she always looked happy to be out on the court, and she swung at everything full swing. Now,her forehand looks like someone at the challengers, or worse, her second serves of a junior, her movement, though still quick, Venus when running these days looks tired. Her commintment to give it all on the court is definitely questionable. She is not hitting the ball the way she used to, her footwork is gone out of the windows basically, especially when compared to 2001 Us Open, she was always moving and at the right position.
I don't know, I love Venus,s he is the reason I started playing tennis, BUT, she has LOOONG ways to go, and it won't be at Wimby definitely. She will either take months off, like in 2000, and come back strong, or just simply retire. Whatever rocks her boat, I'll be happy for her. It is simply sad to see her play like she is currently, no effort at all to do the job the way she can. Venus should play more like Serena, with the same intensity, than she will be at the top, because no one can do it like Venus... but for now, GO SERENA
Serena is simply amazing, she fights as hard as she can for every single point, I hope she kicks ass this tourny
