The Pirannah are circling...smelling williams blood

Vera took out Venus by hanging in there and taking her chances and eating up venus errors with a smile. Now the piranha williams haters like Oooo will have a field day. Its okay though because Venus will regroup and rethink her attitude toward playing so little. Despite coming off an inury and little prep work for this tournament Venus still gave it her all and that is what counts.

GO SERENA TAKE THE GRANDSLAM!
GO CHANDA!
GO JEN!

So true! The board is so slow because a Venus loss really gets them going.

Yeah, I hope Serena wins, so that the williams dominance(at least serena's) dominance remains.
Venus does need to step back and re-analyze her passion for tennis. She is definetely not looking good.

I hope her game, passion, confidence returns at wimby

That's odd. The board has been slow since I logged on this morning, before Venus match started.

You have to answer for Santino, Carlo.

To be honest, I could get on the board before Venus match much easier, but when she lost I was locked out for like 40 minutes.

What is the best thing about this... and the previous losses, is that it highlights the flaw in playing such a light schedule. When defending points, it means that Venus and Serena must equal their previous year's results or hope that the players immediately behind them are inconsistent and don't better their previous year's results.

It looks as if Venus might tumble to number 4. I think that means that Wimbledon will choose to honor the tour rankings as they have done most of the years the Championships have been played.

Also, where will Venus make up points except in Canada? She plays her heaviest schedule in the summer. I don't see how she can add any tournaments in the summer. Does this mean that she will play the indoor circuit?

Anyway, the important thing for her is to get this muscle strain healed and to do well at Wimbledon. Lots of pressure on Venus to not lose points there. If she goes out early in Wimbledon...i.e before the quarters, is there a chance she will fall to number 5?

her coaches should fix her second serve. That serve is too much of a liability in todays game. 12 double faults! jeezus! Someone tell their mother and father to FIX HER SERVE!
