Patty Schnyder's killer serve!

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/sc...13/0368ms.html

Have you seen the fastest serve from Patty????
I bet that it's broken all the records in women tennis and that it's not true...

239 km/h

This must be a typo!!!! This is kind of
absurd isn't it? 239 km/h? On the other
hand it's just the sort of thing we've all
come to expect from her. lol.

Gee. Patty even serves bigger than
Jim Courier's boy Andy Roddick!!

Poor Venus. Someone just broke her
fastest serve record. lol.

239 km/h.

I wonder when they'll correct the typo on
the website.

No, she equals Rusedski's record (239.7 km/h against Muster in Indian Wells 98).

When is a record not a record? As all the serves are recorded by the same machine and you can't ask them to serve again how would you check this?
You could rerun the tape and try and find the ball on the picture frame by frame but if the camera was looking at something else?

Actually I don't know how they ensure the speed recorded was the good one because the machines often give funny results (like Clavet whose serve was recorded at more than 900 mph once ). In Patty's case, the machine had a problem but I saw Rusedski's serve that day. It was an ace down the middle on the ad side and I quite confident it was the right speed (or close).

Maybe the guys working the RG website

in updating the website.
