I feel sorry for Ai Sugiyama

If the pattern is followed Serena will be focused and come out firing. In the slams, when Venus raises her game, Serena sees this and feels threatened, and comes out focused and determined to play better than Venus. She did this after Venus played 150% better in the AO 2003 second round. I don't know if she really feels that threatened by Venus or whether she is just using Venus for motivation (I think a little of both) Ai better be afraid, very afraid.

of course Ai is not afraid of losing...it's only a game.

I am proud of Ai at least give a respectable showing. This match will help Serena more than anything

Indeed Serena has become mentally tougher after this match.

It was a good match. What does she have
to feel to bad about besides the chokey
DF's? She didn't look the least bit intimidated
by Serena.

Raise your hands if you actually seen this match?

It was a very physical match more than a mental
match. Serena was huffing and puffing. Ai was
quicker than Serena in the sprinting department
today. It wasn't like Serena lost her concentration
either during the match. Ai gave her a match-
she even won some rallies. Rallies? think about
that how many rallies has Serena played this
week in her matches? The balls kept on coming
back, and not in that sort of Conchita moonball
way either.
