I am sooo proud of Lindsay (and so pissed at the french crowds)

she was hurting like hell, but kept on playing like a lion . what a goddess . and OMG, those french creeps ! Lindsay is asking for treatment, sitting on her chair with tears in her eyes, and those jerks are cheering and starting "the wave"! there's being supportive of your local fav, and then there's being a total ass, completly without any sportsmanship (I also didn't appreciate them cheering when Venus dubble faulted against Ferina. no class) . oh well, their lame Dechy couldn't win unless Linds was injured, and oh, wait, she couldn't win WITH lindsay injured. but I am too happy right now to be bothered with them. Lindsay is such a champion, she has such a fighting heart .

It's too soon to aim for peace. Aim for better conflict management.

LOL its always a case of the "Partisan Parisians"...today was no different

yes they were harsh but they are always like that thats what makes the atmosphere so amazing on court. im actually suprised there were spare seats, Dechy playing a great player and all, but they didnt half make a lot of noise still.

im just glad Linzi is ok and got through it and i hope Dechy doesnt take the trouble like another player to say she faked THIS injury

I like that the French are spirited, it's fun! and it's completly understandable that they would get behind their local player, but starting a wave to celebrate a player being injured ? come on... I'm sure Lindsay's feelings were hurt. that was just not cool. and the cheering when Venus double faulted... and all this, from the people who could never manage to forgive Martina H. for not being "sporswoman like" enough when she was 18 years old... double standard.

It's too soon to aim for peace. Aim for better conflict management.

What's wrong with Lindsay? I hope she is ok. I think Venus is used to people cheering against her.. I think the players know what to expect from the French... just have to have a thick skin.

Btw Congratulations Lindsay!

I don't think linsady feels hurt When Venus played in Antwerp this year ppl even booed at her afterwards she didn't even notice. If linsday was in the least concentrated then I don't think she gave it any attention. And even if she did, it's not the first time stuff like this happen right?

The wave wasn't started because Lindsay called the trainer... I was there more than once and did the wave more than once too and it's always to cheer for someone, not to rejoice over the fact that someone is injured.

The wave was started because there was time to start one and there was nothing happening on the court. And it wasn't so much about cheering the injury, or even cheering Dechy, as just creating atmosphere. Really... that should have been quite obvious.

so true

im a huge lindsay fan but not once did it cross my mind they started a wave because of the injury. they just wanted to cheer on their player by making lots of noise...the french (chauvinistic) crowd is always like that
