No big upset so far

There has been no major upset in Women's draw so far.
None of the top seeds has fallen and looks like they will all live up to their seedings.
When's the last time that all the top 8 seeds made it to the quarters?
I think this is going to happen at this year's FO baring some serious injury.

I don't think Capriati will make it to the quarterfinals... Petrova is just too good right now.

Hmm but Jen has the experience and Petrova's opponents are not Jen. It can go either way imho.

The only + Nadya has on Jen is serve...

Jen will make her hit alot more balls than she has hit this entire tournament...we'll see how she handles that...plus Jen moves better than her...

If Jen makes this a running match and serves well...she will win

VENUS. ANA, TAY TAY. NICOLE. LAURA. KONJUH. MADISON

SERENA. MUGU. VIKA. PETKO. CARO. TIMEA. SVETA. HEATHER. KAIA. TAMIRA. FLAVIA. GEORGI. COCO. LUCIE, SLOANE. PENG. SORANA. ALICIA. JAEDA. CICI. ANETT. DANKA. DONNA. FRANCOISE.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. SHENAY. DINARA. GISELA. SPREM.

I want a Venus-Jen Quarters badly!!!!

i'm not sure whether all the top 8 seeds will make it. some have quite tough matches coming up.

serna vs. mauresmo (if mauresmo plays well then i don't think it is a contest but if she is a bit off serna may get through).

henin vs. schnyder (you never know with schnyder - it is a grand slam so i expect justine to win but schnyder has the ability to cause an upset).

mandula vs. rubin (rubin has started to gert her clay legs but mandula seems to be playing well - unpredictable in my mind).

capriati vs. petrova (petrova is playing very well it should be a contest - tough to pick a victor).

zvonareva vs. venus (zvonareva is playing well and venus isn't playing that great).

davenport vs. martinez (i expect davenport to win in straight sets but martinez can play well on clay).

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

Given the injury and the lack of match practice and the super opponent... not a huge upset. Even I managed to predict it.

If Jen is even slightly off, Nadia can definitely beat her (she'll have to get off to a good start though), but if not I agree with BK. Chanda somehow contrived to lose a set to Granville yesterday, and Mandula seems to like RG... I wouldn't be shocked if she pulled an upset off there.

I would've said that Vera had a chance against Venus, but it seems like Good Venus is back again.

I don't mind if there's no upsets if
the matches are real competative
battle. It's just been one dud after another.

What I find annoying is that the tv
commentators aren't helping the situation
by saying stuff like..

"oh She can't hurt Venus with that one"

"Serena wouldn't let that shot go"

"it's just not good enough"

"Kim is just a class above"

"No contest"

"no battle"

"this is pathetic"

I never head a golf commentator say anything
so negative during a televised event. Never
heard anybody say something like "oh that's
not good enough to beat Tiger" "Tiger has
nothing to worry about" , "it's not going to happen"
