Impressive Sugiyama

I don't watch too much tennis these days, outside of the big matches or big tournies...but I caught a good deal of Sugiyama's singles win this morning...

Sugiyama really stands out on tour, a bundle of energy, so dynamic, bouncing about the court with abandon, getting the ball back no matter what...

Too often when I catch a match these days I find it hard to get worked up, too many players of similar looks, characters or styles...but Ai is someone it feels natural to root for.

Top class lady, top class player, top class game.

Manchester City 2011 FA Cup winners! 2012 Premier League Champions! 2014 League Cup winners and Premier League Champions! At last!!!!!

I saw her play live in Antwerp against Dokic and Ai really surprised me with her speed, she could hit the most difficult balls back.

Go Ai

True, I don't think Ai has any haters, anywhere... she's just so adorable and such a great fighter.
I hope she can challenge Serena!

Ai is wonderful and such a sweet lady. But IF she will ever be a threat to Serena, the first haters will appear, for sure

All this on her least favorite surface too! I'm still smiling from Scottsdale-and she's proved since then it wasn't just a one off with her semi at Rome.

C'mon Ai

ai!

It's been so great to see many positive posts about her especially more this year.
She had a bad year in 2000 after becoming the last 8 @ Melbourne.
She switched her coach to her own mom and made her own team including a trainer and stuff.
Her efforts has been paying off lately. It's good to see her playing well.

I really like her positive attitude.
She's really quick. It's so fun to see her play especially in dubs. Net play is awesome!

Good luck, Ai!!

Go! Trojans!

I think her results recently have been impressive as well.

She's been on the tour for ages as well.

Good for her .
