To me it sounds like they are copying the "ATP World Tour Finals" though .

WTA finals? WTA finals when Slam will come to China, right?

TT Singles: (CH: #40) | TT Doubles: (CH: #1) | Suicide: (CH: #1) | Tipping: (CH: #2)| FITD: (CH: #1)

I don't understand what the ATP Finals means in terms of language anyway. Finals? Everything else was the preliminary to the finals, I guess. I think Year-End Championship is fine, and I'll still call it that.

With the ATP WTF, I often think WTF? So I don't think that's good. Did they work on the name of the also-rans tournament?

It should be called The WTA World Tour Championship and should be considered the fifth major.

The YEC was fine, what needs to be renamed ASAP is the Premiers.

OMG, the website linked in the article is ... What a joke.

Officially it was WTA Tour Championships and not YEC.

Meh

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

The YEC should be a World Championship and called like that.

good. next they should change 'Road to Singapore' to 'Race to Singapore'. Sofia can be scrapped so there's no confusion there.
