Most likely scenario

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Tough draw from Maria. She faces Stosur here and then probably Li in the quarters. Hope she makes it

of course Samantha Jane sucks in entire season just to save all those biceps curls for the time she is facing Maria.

fast clay is probably the best possible conditions for samantha. especially if it's a hot day. not even someone as tall as sharapova will be able to smack those heavily spun shots back. this will obviously be on manolo santana, which does heat quite a lot.

hoping for a good match like the epic they played in the 2012 edition of stuttgart but won't be holding my breath.

stosur will win in 2. great chance for a semi after that since li quite simply doesn't know how to play stosur, regardless of their respective form and ranking.
this was entertaining until the stosur talk part.

But the H2H... Stosur's mental strength (or lack thereof)... I dunno, for me this just seems NID.

(To answer the question, bits and pieces of the 2nd and 3rd sets)

Well, I'm not gonna lie saying I didn't expect Sam to get the two wins she got over Maria either.

But she did.

As for this particular match, both of them have been very far from their best this season.. Even if the history and overall match up issue favors Maria.

They both come off three setters, but didn't watch Sam's and Maria was shit last round. Let's see how they come out for this one.

Losing 5 games against that

But we have to take into account that it was her maiden GS victory, Maria also dropped 5 games against Serena in hers, the pressure of the moment I suppose.
