Of course, the main priority is to stay healthy. But i personally think that whatever she'll do, she'll have pain until the end of her career
Her great come back during the Summer 2001 until Miami was fantastic, but she obviously made worse with her foot's injury by overplaying (Hopman Cup/AO/Paris/Tokyo/Doha/Dubai or the end of 2001), and she didn't really stop since, only for a few periods, but not enough. Too much pressure have been put on her foot the months before.
Right now, if she'd stop, she'd risk to lose many points and the pain would surely reappear.
It's obvious that Monica would like to finish her career with a victory, but it seems impossible. As i think the pain won't go, i believe she has to do her best to try to adjust, prevent her foot with special insoles.
Try do learn to play with the pain which would be as mend as it can be.
Imagine how sad would she be to miss the French
Remember Goran : he learnt to play with his pain and finally managed to win Wimby. The problem is that Monica isn't really happy on the court because of that injury, and on the other hand of my argue, we can be sure that she tried since almost 3 years to correct it. But unfortunately, it is worse and worse. As she admitted after Casanova's match, she knows she's on the last stage of her career.
Get as better as you can do Monica
