Who will grab a top 16 seed for RG?

so who is going to get that 'important' 16th seed. i am pretty sure that shaughnessy is out of the running and coezter will be relying heavily on other results, so that leaves patty, sugiyama, and the two long-shots pistolesi and dechy. at first i was going to put maleeva but then i realised that patty and ai play in round 3 potentially so they can't both overtake maggie. patty and ai have pretty open draw through to the semis so it should be interesting.

what do you guys think?

I really hope Patty will grab a top 16 seed, but you never know with her...with this rome draw she's got all the chances!

GO PATTY!

yes eva she does, but i am not sure if that is good thing or not. i think the best thing for us to do is to have no expectations whatsoever. in reality patty has just as a higher chance of beating someone like maleeva in the third round as she would against dechy for example. most of time it is going to be up to patty whether she wins or not.

If the draw is constructed in thesame manner as the Australian Open is, the top 16 seed isn't THAT important.

This is because who ever gets 13-16 will be pitted against a 17-20 player in the third round before playing a top 4 seed in the fourth round. So to get to the fourth round you end up having to beat the same players anyway. I hope that makes some sense.

Damn, Amanda could have just about sealed it up if she had taken the match point against Dechy

yeah i know, that is why i said 'important' (note the inverted commors indicating that it is debatable).

Who knows all of those players are up and down like Yoyo's. I think Patty and Nat have the best chance, but they way those girls are playing who knows.

patty, she will go to SF in rome

Something was bound to go right sometime today, All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us
It got cold and then dark so suddenly and rained, It rained so hard the two of us were the only thing
That we could see for miles and miles
And in the middle of the flood I felt my worth, When you held onto me like I was your little life raft
Please know that you were mine as well
Drops of water hit the ground like God's own tears
And spread out into shapes like Salad bowls and basins and buckets for bailing out the flood
