Re: Which of the 2 Serbian sisters will have higher year-ending rank，JJ or I'vic？
2005 is first ever year when they both played full season schedule, and since that year Jelena Jankovic have higher year ending rankings than Ana in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013, and Ana Ivanovic only in 2005 and 2012! It seems that here is no contest between this two, but on other hand Ivanovic won GS title (unlike Jankovic), played 3 GS finals (JJ once), have much better h2h, and have same number of WTA titles despite she is two and half years younger than Jelena.
This phenom is actually easy to be explained, why Jankovic rankings wise has so much more success than Ivanovic, despite hers overall achievements is actually lower than Ana's. Simple, for Ana Ivanovic, unlike for 99% of all other girls from pro-Tour (including Jelena), less than 20% of hers overall earnings come from tournaments money prizes. So other girls must to fight hard for every single dollar (and theirs bonuses and sponsors deals is also often depending of theirs results), but not Ana, which over 30% non-slam events which she played so far is seriously damaged by "I don't care about this" factor, so she not compete there seriously (I guess out of all other pro-tour players only ATP Ernest Gulbis has bigger percentage in this statistics). This said, I'm really happy to note that this season Ana started to play smaller events with much bigger passion than ever before, and one of most important reasons is that she is once again fit enough to play whole day-to-day scheduled tournaments without to collapse on court when first time match goes into third set. That why this season will be maybe exception, so Ivanovic will finish ahead Jankovic.
and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is
AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)
