Capriati def. Schiavone 6-4 6-4

One player is in great form here in Berlin, her name is Jennifer Capriati.
She played a great match against a really patient and defensive player, who also played a great match.

The on-court interview was really funny too.
Some quotes:
"Yea, some people were talking crap about me and my fitness level these last few months and I got sick of that and decided to fight back."

"I think no one can keep an undefeated run up for a long time, not even Serena, well, maybe Steffi can, but I think you guys all know her!"

"I'm happy about my level and I'm travelling with a fitness trainer now too, so I'm bound to improve."

that was a really cool comment about steffi

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

goooooo my 2nd favorite player!

she should win this event now, kim and justine can't hurt her!

Wimbledon champion, Australian open runner up, French open runner up, US Open semi finalist, World no 2, Fed Cup darling, Italian Open queen, Berlin doyenne, Hilton Head heroine, Philadelphia Princess,...the beautiful, incomparable CONCHITA - A 1988 vintage - sweet, fruity and just gets better with age!

P.S - If Conchi ain't in the draw - go Monica!

shiavone pissed me off-she blatantly tried to disrupt capriati's rythm when she went to the loo (and did for a few games). tut tut.

Congrats jennifer!!!

Shame on you schiavone!

The next big thing: Voegele

actually martina nav had a longer run at being undefeated...

though why does she have to bring up serena? I thought she wasn't going to talk about the williams sisters in her interviews anymore?

I'd would've been nice if she shut her trap about Serena. Anyways, congrats Jennifer.
