Anna Kournikova

won challenger titles in Midland, Texas, and Rockford, Ill? When was this?

This is a quote from ESPN.com.....
"This week, she's certainly not seeking the limelight as she attempts to win her third women's circuit title to add to the only trophies in her case earned in Midland, Texas, and Rockford, Ill."

I never knew Anna played the challenger circuit.

Anyone with info?

Thanks guys!

I figured it had to be before she really hit it big with the media in 1997. I just don't recall any press (online or print) about those victories.

I am glad Anna is going back to the drawing board. She is only 21, so lord knows what might happen. Hopefully this will get her game/confidence back on track.

Saw Anna take her SF and F victories in Rockford in 1996-she was playing great tennis, focused, no silly errors, actually did not even need to use the variety she owns because she was so honed in on taking it to her opponents. Won the doubles title there as well... maybe she will take a WTA title before retiring, maybe not, but hope she can stay healthy and focused.

she might be going full circle now
hopefully it ends differently this time

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.
