What should players do to deal with POWER?

I have watched matches and I tend to think that matches are won largely because of the ability to handle power, and less so of the ability to generate it (although that is still important)

Why is it that some players can handle power and some cant?

I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'

Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

I think the players who cannot handle power are the ones who think you got to match power for power and therfore fall short. Those who acknowledge that it takes more than power to win try to include variety. You don't have to generate it, you gotta use your opponents!

yes, they should mix things up, so the player using power doesn't know what's coming, can't control it & makes a bunch of errors. Then the other player has to be able to change & adapt to the mix. If they aren't capable of that, they'll lose.

What I do:

Hit with more power. Come to net every point. If that doesn't work... be stubborn and keep doing it.

If you haven't the capability to match power for power, then learing how to block back shots is the best way to compete with a power hitter. It will accomplish 2 things:

- It will keep you in the game
- It will force your opponent to generate their own power, which is not the easiest thing to do, and will give you a bunch of free points.

It takes a lot of skills for a small girl like myself to handle power. Taking the ball early helps cuz then you can make use of the pace and power generated by your opponent. And hitting flat is another thing a lot of small girls who handle power well do. It takes some risks of course but that's the risk you have to take to match big babes.
