2nd Round German Open Matchups

(3)Justine Henin Hardenne vs. Daja Bedanova
Series tied 1-1
SF Gold Coast 2002 J Henin-Hardenne(2) - D Bedanova(7) 6-2 6-2
QF Bratislava 2000 D Bedanova(6) - J Henin-Hardenne(3) 6-3 5-7 6-4

Even though the series is ties 1-1, I'll be surprosed if Daja can take more than 3 games off a set from Justine.

(6)Chanda Rubin vs. Magui Serna
Chanda leads 4-0
2 Eastbourne 2002 C Rubin - M Serna 6-2 6-2
QF Madrid 2002 C Rubin - M Serna 6-3 6-3
1 Berlin 2002 C Rubin-LL - M Serna 6-4 5-7 6-4
1 Rome 2000 C Rubin - M Serna 6-0 6-2

I was surprised by the fact that Chanda has dominated their meetings. They played last year in Berlin and I expect to see the same type of close match this year.

(7)Daniela Hantuchova vs. Barbara Schett
Daniela leads 5-0
2 Linz 2002 D Hantuchova(5) - B Schett-WC 6-1 7-5
2 Filderst. 2002 D Hantuchova(8) - B Schett-WC 7-5 6-1
QF Montreal 2002 D Hantuchova(8) - B Schett 6-3 6-3
3 Indian W. 2002 D Hantuchova(18) - B Schett(16) 5-7 6-3 6-1
2 Zurich 2001 D Hantuchova-Q - B Schett 6-1 7-65

Daniela hasn't lost to Schett yet(haha), but I think the time might come if Barbara plays her game and Daniela plays like she has been.

(14) Meghann Shaughnessy vs. Paola Suarez
Paola leads 2-0
2 Charleston 2002 P Suarez - M Shaughnessy(8) 6-1 6-1
2 Amelia I. 2002 P Suarez - M Shaughnessy(7) 6-1 1-6 6-0

Woah really surprised by their head to head(both on clay), I guess I'm going with Suarez.

Yeah, I kinda expected Magui to win. She has been playiong well, and winning two titles in a row would do alot for her confidence I would imagine. Plus Chanda hadn't played since Key Biscayne....right??

Better luck next time Chanda..

And nevermind about the Suarez/Shaughnessy second round. I guess I jumped the gun..

Paola lost 6-3, 6-1 to Zuluaga.....poor Paola

Fabiola must have some game, look out Meghann(Fabiola won only meeting in '99)
