They have only played once; the first round of the U.S. Open in 1999 with Amelie winning 6-1 6-4.

But they are both totally different players now. Yes I hope to see that match, a good one it's destined to be.

Amazing that they have been in the Top 10 together for 2&1/2 years, and never played each other. They are in many ways so similar, two introverted Francophones with great dedication to the sport and rare excellent 1-hand backhands. But I prefer Justine, she is more mentally tough.

Amelie would bury justine in the clay court provided that the draw holds for Justine.

Madame Oracene Williams could certainly teach the French & Belgian crowds on how to upgrade their respective primitive behaviours during a tennis match.

One-handed backhand party. YES!

They've also played an exhibition match in Belgium at the end of 2001.
Justine won that match 6-1 7-6 if I remember well.

Josh, are you sure that second set went to a T-break ?
From what I recall, Justine convincingly trashed Amelie in Ciney.

Haven't a clue who'd win that one - but I'd just watch and druel at the backhands!

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

Justine would win of course, I mean, Mauresmo is having problems with Pistolesi and Voracova... says enough I think.

If Clijsters and Capriati meet, my money is on Clijsters in 3 sets.
