Cool Most exciting points

I've seen threads on the best matches before, but what about the best points ever?

Oh yeah, i remeber that one! lol, yeah that was a good point. One that comes to mind for me was Martina vs Serena at the Oz Open this year, when Serena saved that match point! U have to give her credit for that!!!!

OMG That point when Serena saved a match point was historical!!!
How come she become so sensible after showing such coldness! Serena ended that point with a drop-shot, all crowd applaused both players.. and they were looking like "Oh My God this match doesn't ends.." A masterpiece!

Also a point in USOpen 2000 when Venus falls on the court, and close the point against Hingis, that point was the best I ever seen also!
And when Venus saved that match pointS vs Jennifer in Miami, OMG what she did on that??

For me, it's the point at the US open 2000 semi final ... Venus fell trying to get to one of hingisova's balls, got up and still went on to win the point... CLASSIC!!!

The Pierce point was the best shot I've ever seen. Most media rave over the between-the-legs or over-the-shoulder shots (especially if Agassi does them), but they only win points if the opponent is sleeping and fails to come in to net for the easy putaway. In the Pierce point, Monica was in position at the net, but Mary hit an incredible between-the-legs lob winner over Monica.
Some others that spring to mind:

Arantxa's 1st round match at Wimbledon (1990?), when she was down match point, and hit a drop shot winner from the baseline. Guts of a burglar.

Venus's 1997 US Open semi against Irina, when Venus saved a match point with a spectacular backhand winner up the line.

The first point of the 1995 US Open final. Steffi and Monica hit the ground running.

Antwerp 2003: After a great rally, Kim Clijsters loses her racquet against Venus Williams, picks it up, runs back to the ball and hits a passing shot ON the line.

About every 3rd point from the Graf - Seles 1992 French Open Final (about every other point when you reach the 3rd set). I'm sorry, I can't just choose one!

How about last weekend?

Charleston 2003 semis, the point where

Lindsay hit a pretty good shot shot, withe Serena behind the baseline.

Serena ran it down and returned cross court.

But she was up by the net, on the wrong side of the court.

Lindsay hit a nicve deep down the line winner, except Serena ran it down.

But now Serena behind the baseline and outside the sidelines.

Lindsay hit an overhead cross court winner, but Serena ran it down.

So now Serena is behind the baseline and outside the OTHER sideline.

Then Lindsay hit a down the line winner, which actually was one.

Yea that was pretty good too Volcana.
I also liked the second and used matchpoint in the Serena - Martina match in Melbourne 2001, anyone remember?

A good one I remember (it was even on eurosport in WATTS) it was a point in Sydney 2002 between Martina and Kim! After some shots, Kim came to the net but Martina hit an overhead on the backhand side of Kim, so Kim wooded her backhand smash, martina as to run a lot to reach that "drop smash" but she succeed in it and did a good shot, Kim had to slide on the rebound ace to make an overhead that stayed in the limits of the court, then they did a rally that Kim ended with a backhand winner down the line!

I have heard so much about that Mary - Monica point, I wish I had seen it. Of course, I can't bear to watch the match now because of the result .

There was a good point in that Frech open 1999 final I think - the one where Steffi hit the smash into the net at the end. At least I think it was in that match.

Saved match points are always exciting I think. Miami that year Venus beat JenCap had some great ones.
