⛅ La Borz Era: Cocoon KOYTZANIACKA; NEW technical changes; ■■■■□□□ loading

We're working on the tennis court again, but Caroline is of course not running so much. On the other hand, there are a lot of serves, volleys and other technique training. In the middle of this sad situation, it's good we can work on her hitting technique without stress.

La Borz FIRED her physio said:
"I have had a great off-season so I feel I'm on the top of my game.

"In this form I can beat anybody so if I play to my best during the tournament I will be holding the trophy in the end of the week."

She is taking aim at even greater successes later in the year.

"My goal is for this season to win one or more Grand Slams and get a medal at the Olympics in Rio"
If Mark Abildhauge can channel his eagerness to get down to work as her new physiotherapist out into Caroline Wozniacki`s somewhat worn limbs, the Danish tennis star has a great season in sight.

NEW CLAY ERA 2015 :inlove: said:
Okay. It looks like La Borz is going for change-of-pace in 2015 era.

- Using loopy, driving FH to reset points while sliding to her FH. Needs to be consistently deeper and have more racquet acceleration, though. Some of them float long due to not enough acceleration. Short ones will be punished by elite strikers.

- Using more of her BH slice from neutral positions for variation. Effectiveness of BH slice TBD. Doesn't seem to be too attackable, but doesn't really draw a lot of errors or easier balls either.

- Trying to slide into shots more. Still needs work on that regard. Her balance is off after some balls, and she is not comfortable sliding into shots while moving forward.

- Needs to work on drop shot retrievals. Forward movement is already not her strongest point, especially on clay. Player with even a decent drop shot can expose this, e.g. her losses to Martinez Sanchez among others. She struggles to get there, as well struggles to do anything with the ball. Very uncomfortable with 1HBH dink/slice shots around the net.

- Saw some use of a 3/4 topspin serve to start the point.

- Coming forward. Her volleys are basic, so she really needs to finish points with the first volley. She has no idea where to move or cover if she has to hit another one.

- Driving her FH more and getting a better width on FHCC. FFS, please.
OLD ERA 2014 said:
A new era is coming? As you can see in the video below, numerous points won with net approaches. The volleys are not even that embarrassing or awkward, but they are pretty routine.

Some deep and heavy FHs (and even a winner or two off that side)
Her BH was at its penetrating best, like a missile down the line. Very underrated how huge she can hit that shot.

Even her service was good here, but not back to its 2010-2011 best when she would hit numerous aces frequently in matches.

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

Yeah she's been doing this for quite a while (since last year at least go watch highlights of her vs. Sloane New Haven for example) and I'm not impressed at all.
She's still losing a ton, I commend her for trying to be aggressive I guess

Of course, she can always beat idiot like Lisicki and third-rate useless pushers like Beck. Just like Lux 2013, no surprise there.

I think it was you who said "a flop is gonna stay a flop."

Glad someone start this thread, I've been thinking the same thing.

Caro's net play this year has been great. She still struggles a bit about deciding when to come in/when to be fully aggressive, but I'm loving her play.

She is showing the potential to play very solid, controlled aggression. It seems she has beefed up her serve quite a bit too, she has been bombing a lot of flatties down the tee.

Personally I'm really impressed, she's definitely turning me into a fan. I really like what I see.

If she is changing then its gunna take some time before she settles in.

I hope she doesn't get discouraged.

It's long been the case that anyone who thinks of Wozniacki only as a "pusher" is someone whose opinions on anything tennis are best ignored.

Truth

But she's also are making tons of UE's, and she lost one of her biggest strenghts- her mental toughness! Too often she gets broken serving for the set or match!
Yeah but it's just a phase, her mental clutch-ness will surely come back once the pieces of her game starts falling into place and she strings a couple of nice wins together!

Go Caro!

Re: New La Borz Era: heartbroken and about to PUNCH the tour!

is this thread for real?
Not sure if Smitten troll thread...
she soon will be out of the top 20 with her new found agression!
Her forehand is so woeful. :tape:
JJ and her need to get together for a pity party.
LMAO:haha:
You`re a masochist.
I don't see it for her. She has no weapons.
bwwwwwwwwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaahhahaha

Back in 2010/2011 in that DISGUSTING so called 'era' she would have won a match like today with ease.

But not today :wavey:

:rolls: :haha::haha:

Serena better watch out, La Borz will be tugging at the USO.

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

Judged strictly by results Caroline is obviously not the player she was back in 2010/11. But in terms of watchability, the Wozniacki of today is a vastly more enjoyable player than she was three or so years ago. I actually enjoy watching how she plays nowaways. :)

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

Same goes for Cirstea. She makes too much mistakes from the baseline, but she's not bad at the net.

I hope the whole tour decides to stop the baseline stuff and takes the net more often. It's definitely the thing to do to challenge the top 3 or top 5 or top 10 anyway.

Hopefully Venus shows her how to do it properly.

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

I like the fact that she's trying to evolve as her old game was more consistent but she wasn't getting the desired results on court. I really hope she can find some consistency as I applaud any player who is out there trying to at least change things up. Good luck to her.

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

It's good to see that she's finally making some progress with her newfound agression, but ultimately I agree with Mortensen that she needs to be the player that she once was in 2010 - a player that constantly mixes up her pace and spin, not just some 2nd rate version of a typical WTA ballbasher. Still, I am hopeful that she will soon strike that balance of aggression and variety that will help her get back on top again.

Re: New La Borz Era: volleying; added aggression

She's adding things to her game after her old game stopped working, gotta respect that.

Give her time, the drive is still there, she will be back strong soon.
her bh is still good enoug but the rest of her game...:help: Her fh is probably the worst shot in top20 (with Sam's bh)and I don't see what she added exactly.Being agressive against Lisicki who has no clue and play mostly on her bh is not really telling;Today she was trying to be agressive and it was a fiasco : fh breaking down, had no clue as when to come to the net etc...
Even if it was boring as hell, she would probably be more successfull coming back to her old game
