Unhappy Lindsay will never be the same

Since her long injury she fails to win titles, while before she was winning them quite easily. Before I feared her when she played Kim for example, because she was one to be feared and now I feel very different about her, I feel more save, just likr Lindsay is beatable at every given moment

Lindsay won 7 titles in 2001 only, and in 2002 and 2003 after her injury only ONE!

her losses:

Stanford SF to Kim Clijsters
San Diego SF to Venus Williams
Los Angeles F to Chanda Rubin
New Haven F to Venus Williams
US Open SF to Serena Williams
Moscow F to Maggie Maleeva
Filderstadt QF to Kim Clijsters
Zurich F to Patty Schnyder
Champs R16 to Monica Seles - how could she blow that one?
Sydney F to Kim Clijsters
Aus Open R16 to Justine Henin-hardenne - great match tho
(Won Tokyo over Seles)
Scottsdale R16 to Ai Sugiyama
Indian Wells F to Kim Clijsters
Miami R16 to Marion Bartoli
Charleston SF to Serena Williams
Amelia Island F to Elena Dementieva

Her final record:

2003: 1-3
2002: 0-4
--------------
2001: 7-3
2000: 4-7
1999: 7-1
1998: 6-4
....

Okay the only finals I've watched was Zurich, Indian Wells, and AI. But I've checked out the scores of all finals and here they are:

2002 LA- Chanda Rubin7-5, 6-7(5), 3-6 COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY
Okay Chanda played incredible this tournament beating SERENA and Dokic but Lindsay had a great run as well beating Bovina, Daniilidou, and Sugiyama..now I've noticed she won the 1st set and COULD have won the match with that tiebreak in the 2nd but someone who watched this can tell how Lindsay played in the 3rd?

2002 New Haven- Venus Williams 5-7, 0-6 OUTPLAYED
Completely outplayed in the final but she did beat Tulyaganova, Mauresmo, and Myskina along the way in straight sets

2002 Moscow- Maggie Maleeva 7-5, 3-6, 6-7(4) COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY
Sigh.ANOTHER close final haven't watched this but noticed she did win the 1st set again..but Maggie had a dream run as well beating VENUS, Dechy, and Mauresmo and of course is a threat as always Indoors

2002 Zurich- Patty Schnyder 7-6(5), 6-7(8), 3-6 SHOULD HAVE WON
I guess you already know she won the first set AGAIN and lost in 3 tight sets lol..Saw this one and I really think Lindsay should have closed this out in the 2nd set..but I think in the 3rd she got tight, hit errors, and Patty played great. In Lindsay's road she beat both the Belgians and Patty beat Bovina, Hantuchova, and Martinez.

2003 Sydney- Kim Clijsters 4-6, 3-6 OUTPLAYED

2003 Indian Wells- Kim Clijsters 4-6, 5-7..FOUGHT BUT OUTPLAYED

2003 Amelia Island- Elena Dementieva 6-4, 5-7, 6-3
This match has been analyazed a lot lately so I really dont' know if she got outplayed or that she should have won. Now Lindsay was never a game away from the match but she also blew big leads...so COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY

Okay here's what I have:
Outplayed in finals-3 times
Should have won-1
Could have gone either way-3

Now those matches that could have gone either way were in 3 tough sets! And what I noticed is that those players she lost to (Rubin, Maleeva, and Dementieva) had the tournaments of their LIFE. Chanda beat Serena on the way, Maggie beat Venus on the way to her title, and Elena beat 3 top 10 players! Now that's either bad luck for Lindsay but I think all of us have higher expectations of her. But don't worry bout this. She shown in most of her matches that she is can be unbeatable already being in the final of a clay court event is a good start.

yeah but still, Lindsay was the one who outplayed her opponents in finals before her injury

Maybe she should cut on doubles? She is too good of a doubles player not to last deep in the week in both draws. And Amelia Island is 56-draw. She just ran out of gas..
