MOnica is the only player to have lost to Davenport in the finals since her (lindsays) come back...... is monica choking????

Davenport has lost to Schynder, Dementieva in finals... Monica is better than some of these players.. what was monica doing?!

No, I am a Monica fan but after that first set Lindsay was just spraying winners all over the place. There was nothing much that Monica could do. Some of those shots were just . Nothing to do with the injured foot.

Monica looked so tired at the end of the first set you could just tell that Lindsay was going to come back strong. I mean the court was very very fast like faster then anything I have seen (is it astro-turf cos it sounded like it!). Monica just could not keep up with the pace of the ball and Davenports hitting.

tyk101, didn't you learn yet that when top players like Venus, Serena, Lindsay etc. meet Monica, they play their absolute best, and when they play other opponents they suck ass like never before? I'm sure if Lindsay was playing against Monica today, she would have played out of this world. They always raise their level against her.

Don't forget to add Rubin to that list, she beat Davenport last year in a tournament somewhere in the US.

why not just isolate the davenport-seles final (it was only one final)? why make it a blanket statement, and a negative one at that?

Thanks Glenn for the statistics......

Hmmm.... Monica should have kept Lindsay's Finals Losing Streak...

And did anyone notice the same pattern for those Non-Top10 players (Chanda was outside the Top10 at that time) who've scored the victory over Lindsay in the final??? They all lost the 1st set, won a tough 2nd set, then took the 3rd set and the match......

HOT GUYS How come there are so many out there?

Heck at least Lindsay's been consistent <g> if she could translate half those final losses into wins this year she would climb up the rankings even more <g>

Well lindsay did play great in that match, but i believe it would have been a different story if monica was 100% at that time in the Pan Pacific tournament.
