develop strategies before stepping on court. I love Jennifer and she is my favorite player but after I saw her mini-interview on ESPN during the match I was a bit shocked to hear her say she just needs to work on a few physical things leading up to the French. Except for her serve (which is improving...I think she hit more aces than Linds) her game is so technically sound it is not even funny. Her footwork, speed and recovery are amazing. She simply has no game plan. I was eagerly awaiting todays match and I thought, of course Jennifer is going to run Linds side to side on clay...just like Venus and Serena would. Of course Jennifer is not going to stick to her recent 'hitting the ball straight back to her opponent while running from side to side retrieving her opponents shots' strategy.
Well she did.
Everyone knows Lindsay doesn't move well on clay.
Does Stefano Capriati not know this? hello!!!
Jen has 4-5 (hopefully) good years left and I want her to win as many slams and titles as possible. She needs a new coach. She needs a new strategy. She needs a strategy period.
In the early 90's Mary carillo always used to joke that when Jennifer and Monica were losing they just hit the ball harder...that was their one and only strategy. Well, 12 years later and they both have not evolved game plan wise. Jennifer has an amazing ground game. She should have moved Linds with angles side to side. Just don't hit the bloody ball right back to Lindsay in her strike zone (!)
and hope for the best. linds eats that shit up for breakfast.
Oh...someone in another thread that got a little to negative/nasty for me to respond said that jennifer today played like Aranxta...during the match I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Aranxta, as we all know, was all defense. Jennifer has defense and offense, so why not accentuate the positive and get on the offense?
