Now since Justine is out, who will win AI now?

Who do you think will win now since Justine is out of AI? I thought she was the one to beat here, and since she is out now do you think it will be Capriati, Davenport, or Dementieva?

I'm picking Davenport, because she is a safe pick. Her h2h's over Capriati and Dementieva are dominating. However, I do think that Capriati can sneak a win in the semis. Remember, anythings possible.

I just have a feeling that Dementieva's push will come to an end in the finals. Although, we all thought the same thing about AI sugiyama at Scottsdale.

Who will win it?

It would be great for Elena to win, but I cant help but think that Lindsay will win. The way she crushed Patty was just scary. Patty was just laughing at some of the passes Lindsay was making.

LOL very true. Although I would love for Elena to finally win her first title. I can't help but wonder just what a great final it would be if Justine were to battle Lindsay! A great rematch of January's AO!

What gave you the right to say that Henin was going to win AI?
Ooh because she beat Serena just last week and she's been proclaimed
talented. This girl is not consitent.
I don't know what her fans around here will be saying about this defeat
in the hands of Dementiava.
As someone put it "Henin is a sole loser in a highest order"

Why wouldn't her fans think she would win this? Clay is her best surface..she's coming off a good win in Charleston..and she's the #1 seed in the tournament. Does that not make her the favorite?

what?!?!? I will concede to say as a Justine fan that Elena played more aggressively and deserved to win based on this match. Justine's game was very streaky and way inconsistent but this is not what people expected from Justine. After a glorious match against Monica many pretty much felt that Justine would go on to win the event. And for good reason. This is her best surface and her game fits this surface very very well.

What gave you the right to think that Henin was not? Yes, she can be inconsistent as I stated in another thread also but she is one of the best on clay. True, last week she got alot of assistance from an off Serena but she still won it.

Also, last year in the finals of AI against Vee she played great. Venus was almost down for the count, but my girl pulled it off. Great champion. Also, I'm NO fan of Justines either, I'm just realistic.

I say Davenport all the way!!! Go Big Lindsay, get that title. Even though I would of thought it to be interesting if she played Justine.
