Serena vs Justine

The last time these two played on clay, Serena had only ever been past the quarterfinals on clay ONCE. And it was Justine who beat her that time. The occassion was doubtless fresh in Serena mind, since it had only occurred a week earlier. This time, Serena is defending Rome and Roland Garros champion.

They've only ever had one match where not even one set was close.
Regrettably for Justine, it was the last one.

Here's the H2H.

Code:
2001 U.S. Open Hard (O) 16 S.WILLIAMS 7-5 6-0
2001 WTA Champs Hard (I) QF S.WILLIAMS 6-3 7-6
2002 Berlin Clay (O) FR HENIN-HARDENNE 2-6 6-1 6-7
2002 Rome Clay (O) FR S.WILLIAMS 7-6 6-4
2002 Leipzig Carp (I) SF S.WILLIAMS 6-4 6-2

Hey volcana, can you tell me what Justine's point will be after charleston? IF she loses and if she wins? I wanna know how close she will be to Kim!

volcana, I thought the Rome final was 7-6 6-1.

editor's note: the ITF site would disagree with me. Maybe I was thinking of the 2001 Rome final.

I got the stats from the ITF, but gimme some time and I'll check the Rome site.

Since Justine is a good mover, Serena would make her move all over the court until Justine loses all her energy.

Madame Oracene Williams could certainly teach the French & Belgian crowds on how to upgrade their respective primitive behaviours during a tennis match.

oh stop the crying... you can always record one then watch one LIVE?

My bet is to watch TENNIS LIVE cause it is better than GOLF!

Justine's only chance is to make the match a little interesting.

I hope it would be a great match though so Serena would have a great practice in preparation for her 2nd Roland Garros title.
