Why, Magda, why? You should have won this one!

Did anyone see the match?

Petko this just makes the loss even more fucking disappointing.

Kurumi is so loved here now.

Good luck in the next round. Japan's pride is in your hands.

Rybarikova's Grand Slam record is so disappointing. This was a very winnable match too. Still, at least she got her first AO MD win under her belt so hopefully she can get that long overdue win at Wimbledon!

to be honest, I expected this
Kurumi advanced to 3R in last USO and SF in international Osaka
while Magda is out of form for a while

You said exactly what I was about to say. The only word to describe Magda's GS record is execrable:
AO - 1r 5 times, 2r once
RG - 1r twice, 2r 4 times - only slam where she has passed the first round most of the time!
Wimbledon - 1r 6 times
USO - 3r twice , 2r once, 1r 3 times.

Nara has been in probably the best form of her career so beating the dodgiest seed in town is not a huge surprise, though it is very disappointing that Magda can beat Petkovic so well one day and lose to Nara the next...

Re: AO R2: Nara d. Rybarikova 6-4 6-3

WTF

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Re: AO R2: Nara d. Rybarikova 6-4 6-3

People hating on Nara obviously didn't see the match I thought the same, until I actually saw it. Only her celebration was tasteless against Peng, nothing else. So, yeah. People really will believe anything. Not relevant.

Good win here

Petkovic See, wasn't that hard.
