why so many different follow-ups for slams?

Aussie followup=>Pacific Open
which Hingis entered last yr, and won by Davenport this year,
and it's a tier I

Miami (5th Slam)=>Sarasota + some bad tournament,
which is really sad.....

Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US,followups
are just whole bunch of low tier events

what do u think is the best followup,
and is Tier I following a Slam a good idea?

a Tier I event right after a Slam is insane, but it's tolerable after OZ because not everyone plays Sydney, and if people don't play Sydney then they go to the Pacific Open. and then there are players who play all the in one shot and then take like 2-3 weeks off. but the best tournament to follow a Slam would be nothin higher than a Tier III or IV imo.

Jelena Dokic.Vera Zvonareva.Tatiana Golovin.Mary Pierce.Monica Seles.Martina Hingis.Anna Kournikova

The grass court 'season' after RG all though they are low ranked a lot of top players go to practise the grass, which is why places like S-Hertogenbosch and Birmingham have such high draws, even though they are tier 3

which creates quite some controversy
over why 2 Slams are planned
almost side by side......
