Fed Cup: Euro/African Zone Group I-more exciting than WORLD GROUP

this group features
Greece, Israel, Bulgaria, Switzerland,
which covers
Danillidou, Pistolei, Maleeva, Schnyder,
especially in Swiss, 3 TOP 50 players
Schnyder, Casanova, MGM
4 TOP 20 players

then there is also
Slovenia: Srebotnik TOP 40, Matevic TOP 50,
Luxemberg: Kremer, former TOP 20, now TOP 50

why better than world group?
look at the matchup
USA vs Czech Republic (Surface: Hard (Plexipave) - Indoors)
Sweden vs Italy (Surface: Hard (Premier) - Indoors)

Belgium vs Austria (Surface: Clay (Red Clay) - Indoors)
Germany vs Slovak Republic (Surface: Clay (Red Clay) - Outdoors)

Argentina vs Slovenia (Surface: Clay (Red Clay) - Outdoors)
Russia vs Croatia (Surface: Carpet (Taraflex) - Indoors)

Spain vs Australia (Surface: Clay (Red Clay) - Outdoors)
France vs Colombia (Surface: Clay (Red Clay) - Indoors)
most of the matches probably wont have any surprise
QF is almost setup
US vs Italy
Belgium vs Slov (there is really no one in Germany)
Argentina vs Russia
Spain vs France

outside the world group,
and excluding these players,
there are only 5 other players inside TOP 50
no in that world group of E/A zone I

4 players featured in Asia Zonal I
which will be a pretty strong group as well,
last yr won by China with no TOP 100 player,
Uzbekistan: Tulyaganova
Thailand: Tanasugarn
Japan: Sugiyama
Korea: Cho
also dont forget
about Indonesia: Widjaja

(Zonal II) South Africa﹕ Amanda Coezter

so looking forward to this year's Fed Cup?

south africa are in euro/africa group 1 and Amanda has confirmed she will play.

I think Greece got relegated last year into group 2, but i'm probably wrong.

Marie-Gaine Mikaelian won't play for Swiss
she has an on-going conflict with them since she was a junior.

She's gonna defect to France.

so u just switched S. Africa for Greece......
so swap Amanda and Eleni,
which will still make this group a good one to see...
who would have thought the Swiss would lost
to Sweden in their last relegation playoff.....

especially as its on clay.

Not many teams on here that we can realistically beat, probably Ireland, Romania, Georgia and Poland, but we wont get all those in our group!!
