Backhand slice (when I'm the one hitting it). To watch... maybe an inside-out forehand crosscourt return/wrongfooter; or down the line.

Re: The most satisfying shot in tennis?

Running crosscourt backhand passing shot! (or even down the line)

Backhand overhead smash? backhand down the line return winner? stop volley? Offensive topspin lob? I'll put some categories in a poll but feel free to add a shot by a player you saw (male or female) or did yourself in a match.

Oh and mine? Over the years I would say I love hitting the backhand overhead, when I pull it off I always scream in delight. Hitting a return winner also gives me great pleasure always.
Such a very difficult question...so many shots come to mind....depends on the moment for me.

But I have to say any shot in a clutch situation. Especially if the shot catches the opponent completely off-guard.

Other than that, a booming ROS DTL.

Re: The most satisfying shot in tennis?

One particular shot I like is Kerber's running forehand out wide. She is able to hit it up that line in a lefty-stylish way, the way Patty Schnyder used to flatten her out forehand.
Otherwise I like the out wide serve that takes opponents way off court to return

Serena just provided the most visible proof that a RoS winner is the most satisfying shot. I'm sticking to the OP.

Re: The most satisfying shot in tennis?

It is, I believe, the service return winner. It just feels extremely satisfying to shut down your opponent's serve, most likely when he/she is probably still in his/her service motion.

Re: The most satisfying shot in tennis?

Running passing shot always looks and feels triumphant for sure.

I also think there is a certain oomph you feel, when you get up to a drop shot and just kill it for a winner.
