Re: Serena is doing her off season training with Richard
Honestly, since 2009, Serena has not gone into the AO in bad form. After winning 09-10, she didn't attend 2011, then in 2012-13, she suffered freak injuries to her ankle. She rolled/sprained it in Brisbane (or Sydney, can't remember which) in 2012 and during the AO this year she rolled it again. The only thing that's been stopping Serena from winning the AO recently is Serena. Hopefully that will change next year. Based on form alone she should have 7 AOs.
Also, I'm glad she's training with Richard this off-season. He could probably get her to be more aggressive on hard courts again, not to mention getting that 2012 serve back. She had a hard time coming out of "clay mode" after RG and sometimes reverted back to it during the summer HC season and on. On hard courts, Serena needs to be the boss. She played far too defensively a lot of the time.
