What the hell is with all these "War" threads?

You have to answer for Santino, Carlo.

And to think that I was criticised by some posters a few months ago for asking "Is Daniela Hantuchova wearing fur?" in General Messages

I wonder where they all are now. Oh well.

As this is the start of the first "internet era war" (not counting Afghanistan which was a "little war"), I doubt you'll find a "refuge" anywhere on the web.

Of course I care about tennis. Monica AND Kim are both playing this week. BTW, for all we know Saddam may be dead already. The US dropped bunker-busters on his believed location a couple hours ago.

We can't stop and cower because the world is going to hell (the terrorists have already won). If you want to live your life like that, feel free, but the rest of us will continue on as best we can, and yes, that includes caring about tennis.

I wonder if Sadam will die as many times as Bin Laden did?

They certainly aren't claiming to have killed him. They've said they dropped ordinance on his head and don't know the result.

Uh huh. Just liked they claimed to have killed Bin Laden on about 500 different occasions. Forgive me for being skeptical

they didn't ever claim to kill bin laden. they did everything but, granted. but they never came right out and said he was definitively dead. i always knew if they could definitively declare him dead, they would, and that's why i thought he was alive long after the media wrote him off about a year ago.

Alright, they never actually said "Bin Laden is definately dead", but did they not say many times that they felt confident that they had crippled the area that he was suspected to be in, and that he was more than likely dead? I sort of consider those to be one in the same... I didn't pull that one out of my ass, at least not completely.

Regardless - I don't believe anything that I see on CNN unless there is something to back it up, and them saying that they had hit wherever he heck Sadam was sounds like another thing that they would say to make the American people feel a little better...

I was thinking that myself.

I think we need a "War Forum" so we can enjoy GM and NT and not have to worry about someone starting another thread about the same topic that was discussed the day before at length. But with threads like "Is Hussen Going To Hell" I hope this is a sign of people running out of things to say on the topic. I can't think of a more useless thread.

Shouldn't this war thread wander it's little ass right back to Non-tennis?

Oh the irony.....

Only after the last tree has been cut down
Only after the last river has been poisoned
Only after the last fish has been caught
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten. "Cree Native American Prophecy"

like i said, rebecca, they did all but claim he was dead. which, of course, was the tipoff that he was alive. if the americans could at all claim bin laden is dead, it would be shouted from every hilltop and on CNN round the clock for 49639 days.

yeah, this whole "we bombed saddam" thing seems like propaganda.
