Cool Venus is playing- I just assumed because Vee is playing FedCup she would skip this tournament.

I see Monica hasn't committed but then again she is playing AI, FCC and Rome.

I'm surprised to see Kim or Bovina's name not on the list.

thanks for the list wojtek.

I see Meghan as a serious challenge to Venus. Where's Jelena? and Chanda?

When I think of life, sometimes my response is "Oh Damn!". But I still think of life anyway, "Oh Damn!!!"

No kim

she's got champion points to defend from hamburg that week!

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

Last year Henrieta Nagyova was the top-seed at Warsaw. This time she's headed for qualifying. Due to the departure of Hamburg, which moved it back a week in the schedule, the J&S Cup has really grown in stature. Now $700.000 in prize money and Tier IIA status.

The entry list could be stronger, even though I find it highly appealing myself. They are only getting the mininum from each layer of the Gold Exempt list. And it seems there is actually someone missing. One of these five should be a guaranteed show: Lindsay Davenport, Monica Seles, Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin, Anna Kournikova.

A WC for Kournikova, and the two regular wildcards for Domachowska and Sakowicz?

Yes, and I think it has to go to one of the five players I mentioned. But it doesn't necessarily have to be Kournikova, of course.

Wojtek, do you know how the tournament managed to increase their sponsor contributions that much? They couldn't have known that Hamburg was dying before last fall.

Maybe it was Anna who drove up the interest with her surprising appearance last year...

I was very suprised when i see that this event was move to 700.000 $ because they didn't have 170.000$ two or three years ago . This event has the same director like Sopot event . Amelie was in commitment list in 2000 and 2001 in Sopot but she had injury so maybe she will get Gold/Silver Exempt .

Lena's not defending??? It doesn't say Jelena Bowina.

I hope she takes off that week, and doesn't waste her time in Bol... since she'll be playing Fed Cup in Croatia. Rest before the two Tier I's.
