How do you compare the youngsters in the top 100?

which one currently in the top 100 will be the best? most of them have different games. e.g. harkleroad with her speed, zvonareva with her angles and spins, bartoli with her double-handed shots.

who do youy think will go the furthest in the game and why (don't just say because they are more talented, actually talk about the aspects of their game and how they currently are or how they can be developed and how this will make them a better player than the others)?

so who is it:

zvonareva
mikaelian
kuznetsova
casanova
widjaja
krasnoroutskaya
safina
bartoli
cohen aloro
harkleroad (come on she is just outside the top 100 and has been in there for more than a week)

I havent seen many of those players on tv before, but i would definately put my money on the russians for starters...probably Zvonareva cos she definately seemed able to match Kim at last years US Open and played very well considering she lacked experience. Plenty of power too not just nice angles and spins.

Good luck to the Aussie and Balkan girls!

if melanie stays myriam's coach i think she is destined for big things. with her inherent power and the right tutelage i believe she will go far. i mean she already has the game, she just needs some weight loss. although i fear players losing too much weight, as i think patty suffered from the side-effects (i am not ignoring the other significant factors ie guru's, criminals and insane parents)

i haven't seen much of angie or lina and never cohen aloro or harkleroad. i've just heard things like cohen aloro hits so hard and harkleroad has so much speed.so people say harkleroad hits hard while others say she has power but not that much.

i wanted to get a feel for these young players games so in the future when i see them play i'll see their progress and development.

I saw Angelique Widjaja played an Exhibition Match againts Wynne Prakusya here in Jakarta

Angie has a similarity games like Davenport, but Angie is need to improve her power, reduce UE's and probably improve her serve as well. Angie has a good fighting spirit as well, no matter what the score..every single points is count

Go Angie

It's hard to say because we've seen so little of all of them...

I have seen Safina a couple times... she's quick around the court, has good power, she's a great athlete. If she stays strong mentally, I think she's a Top 10 player in the next 3 years.

I've only seen bits of the rest of them, so I can't say... and Angie vs. Anna which doesn't count.

It's too soon to tell who will accomplish what.

Leena, Dinara is quick around the court? I saw her play Serena Williams on television at the 2002 U.S. Open and she looked pretty slow to me.

I hope Mikaelian goes far..she is very friendly, has a fantastic game, hits very hard and has loots of potential...Hope her injuries are done for a time...She was having a great draw at Ao...

Kuznetsova and Zvonareva are also sure bets...

Thumbs up

Sveta Kuznetsova is only 17, and already has 2 singles and 5 doubles WTA titles! I have not seen her play, but am sure this phenomenal start has to mean something good about this player!

the problem with Zvonareva is that shes predictable, doesnt know how to finish off points, and is allergic to the net other than that shes great

Age of current top ten players (and Monica) at END of the first year they entered in the top ten

14 Jenn
16 Monica
18 Serena
18 Venus
18 Lindsay

18 Kim
18 Jelena
19 Justine
19 Dani
20 Amelie
20 Chanda

The fact jumps right out at you.
The multiple GS winners all enter the top ten early.

So that's what I look for when searching for elite players.
Evevryone who makes the top ten young doen't win GS titles.
But everybody who wins multiple GS titles seem to get to the top ten early.

Based on that, my eye's on Dinara Safina.
She's only 16, already ranked #63, and can really smack it.
Kuznetsova just doesn't seem like top ten material to me.
But she IS young.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.
