Re: How many more French Opens will Serena win?

I would say 1 or 2 more.
However with her recurring back problem and RG and Wimbledon being so close on the schedule, I think she has a hard choice to make.
When does she want to focus her effort?
If she goes full effort at RG, she may win it but lessened her chance at Wimbledon.
If she skipped RG, she is in good shape to win Wimby, and I believe she want to win Wimbledon again, especially this year.

I think with her winning it this year she may lose focus at Roland Garros now since it is the major she has to put most energy into.

Queen Vee, Super Rena, Krazy Kuzzie

I would not use the expression "lose focus".
I'll believe she'll make a deliberate and strategic choice whether to play RG and reduce her chance at Wimbledon, or skip RG and focus on Wimbledon... not unlike Murray did this year.

Now that the demons of Quarterena are buried under the red clay of Paris, she should be the most confident there that she has been since 2002-2003.

Even if her clay preparation is not undefeated going into the FO, she should be the favorite or co-favorite. I can see her winning one more. That would be great.

I'd love to see her win Aus-French-Wimbledon in 2014. Someone else can take the US Open.

I'd be surprised if she didn't win 2 more by Rio.

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Serena.

I'd love to see her win all four in singles AND doubles next year. No one, male or female, has ever done that, and if she were to pull that off, you would have to consider her the GOATROG (Greatest Of All Time Regardless Of Gender).

Serena's health is of the utmost importance in ANYTHING she's attempting to do. But IF healthy, I can possibly see her making a run @ and winning one maybe TWO more French Open titles. No more that that I wouldn't think.

Re: How many more French Opens will Serena win?

A 'few more' is pushing it. There just aren't any genuine clay-court virtuosos any more, and the ones that perform the best now on clay (Martha, Errani, etc), Serena owns them anyway, so she could conceivably win another next year.

So yes, another one is highly possible, two at the most. It's not like she can keep winning RG deep into her 30's though.

What?! In what world do you believe Serena would skip a Slam (one where she's even the defending champion)? It's just not even conceivable. And just because she plays at RG doesn't mean it would reduce her Wimbledon chances. She could not play RG and still not win Wimbledon.

Well she'll have a great shot next year to defend, subject to health. It's really difficult to predict beyond that.

It is wishful thinking on my part.

I based it on the premise that it is hard to win both RG and Wimbledon in the same year.

And if she want to win one, she would have to sacrifice the other.

Of course she won't skip Wimby if she plays RG, but it will be challenging.
