It's not Caroline. She's already signed up for Monterrey. I know she's not guaranteed to finish the year in the top 10, but I can't see her signing up to 2 international's before the season is over.

I imagine this is meant to be a top 10 player, unless it's Venus Williams. The options feel like Williams, Azarenka, Sharapova, Kvitova. Radwanska already down for Katowice. Li will surely play Shenzhen. Errani will surely play a clay international.

I think it's Venus too.

She's played it before.

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Serena.

Don't get me excited

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

The big announcement is it's being cancelled as the tournament will move to Mongolia, as part of the WTA's strategy to bring tennis to Asia.
