That would be remarkable. Clay, grass and hardcourt slams in a row. Well, she did it already.

Wouldn't that be nice, provided it happens to the right player of course .

Re: Will we have a new slam winner in 2014?

I don't think so but the most likely choice would be Sloane or Jelena winning RG next year. I think RG is probably the least predictable slam now because I really believe Serena has a stranglehold on that (never would've said this years ago) however Jelena's/Sloane's best surface seems to be clay so if any new slam winner will win next year it would be one of those two

Imagine if Sloane's first ever title was RG next year .

Too many polls about this! Lisicki (again) will win Wimbledon next year. She is the best active player on grass and will defeat Serena again.

Re: Will we have a new slam winner in 2014?

Come on, Caro has not reached a Slam QF or a SF in years.

She would be overwhelmed to face a seed at a slam

Stephens just overhyped for now. Really like her attitude, but she is still quite far away from that feet.

the only chance is a Jankovic at RG (MAYBE Sara). This is the slam where Vika is worst and you never know with Serena in Paris.

Don't see Wimbledon go that crazy again. If it does, this time it would be Sabines title. But it won't happen again

Going out on a limb here, but I'm almost sure Jamie Hampton will win Wimbledon 2014.

No, but if it happens, I would say it would happen at RG. It seems to be the least predictable to me.

I don't think so. She had her chances and her time has passed.

How is Lisicki the best active player on grass?

Serena in the past 6 years won it twice and was a finalist another year.

Wimbledon 2013 was a mess for both the women and men. Do not base your future predictions on that. It was a fluke.

Re: Will we have a new slam winner in 2014?

If you look at the one-slam wonders currently active, one thing stands out. Inconsistency. With the exception of Li Na, none of them have held their ranking. They're all players ho got hot for while, then returned to their level. So I'd be looking for somebody who can be insanely good. Infrequently. As opposed to a solid top ten player, who always performs to a level. So no Errani, no Kerber, no Radwanska ....

I'd say Lisicki, but not at Wimbledon.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.
