Dear Ai:

Ai, you finally made it!!

I have been following you ever since you made 4th round at FO in 1995.
But for years, I have been disappointed with your so many bad losses.
Then, you have kept improving step by step only to achieve success.

It's been a most exciting week for your fans this week. You are now one of a few players who beat Davenport and Clijsters in the same tournament(, which might not happen again realistically....but I still believe you can go even further).

Thanks for a great week and wish your more success for years to come.

Omedetou Ai chan!

Well done Ai!

She certainly had an incredible week with wins over Koulikovskaya, Davenport, Daniilidou, Stevenson and Clijsters.

Ai played a tremendous match!!! She was aggressive from the beginning, leading 3-1 in the first set before having that lapse. But after the rain delay at the 3rd set, she played like a top 10 player, painting the lines, and excellent net play! I never knew how badly Kim was up at net til this match...but much deserved to Ai. She her 2nd match in a day, both 3 setters!! Amazing!!

Good Luck Radwanska Sisters!

I dont post that often but i guess i just think it's a hoot how much fewer threads there are on the match now, than before when everyone was rah-rahing for Kim...(nothing against Kim, she's great I mean, I'm not trying to rile up anyone....

It just goes to say that you can never be sure WHO will win a match on any given day...anything CAN happen.....

I had no idea after the Alex match that Ai would have had enough gas in her to beat Kim, and to do it for another 3 long sets. It's really an amazing feat for her and I hope that EVERYONE (Kim fans too) can have their slice of humble pie and congratulate Ai on a win that no one probably believed she would achieve.

KUDOS TO AI!!!

I was rooting for the Great Asian Hope. Good win though.
On a serious note, those who watched it, was Kim outplayed or she did not show up after the rain delay. And I am not taking anything away from Ai. looks to me that playing an entire match early in the day gives you an advantage coz you are so thoroughly warmed up. Venus pilot pen 2001, Justine (i don't remeber where)
Now Kim step this all the way up to IW, all yours for the taking!

I thought Kim was outplayed, Kim tried to change the pace after the break but Ai was there for every shot.
