Interesting Kim Statement

....in antwerp where i lost to venus, i was playing very well.

i think here we can very much see the difference in when a fan, makes a statement about their player, and then when their player comes out and makes a statement. they say kim was sick, well she was, but like she said "she played very well" in antwerp. I just thought I would bring it up. All based on whether or not Kim was "playing well" against venus even though she was sick.

...oh i probably will have more threads, cuz i think these commentators will be talking about some very interesting things, that we all may end up discussing!

Yes, but she didn't say she played well against Venus. She said she played well in Antwerp, which constitutes her having a good tournament. Be careful what noun you modify and don't misquote people to support your favorites.

Regardless, from what I understood Venus played her best match in months against Clijsters, and I'm sure Kim is over it. She'll be okay.

Frankly what I found more interesting was that Clijsters said she is hitting it less hard the last year. I've been saying that for a while now. (takes a bow)

Lol, the commentators were all bringing up how kim is challenging the williams sisters, but they never mentioned how just recently venus beat kim quite easily...

And i hope that kim is in vee's half of the draw because people have come up with so many excuses for kim like she was sick when i believe she said herself that she was ok...

Enough already!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim was playing well enough to make it to the finals in Antwerp and well enough to make it to the semis in OZ...guess what?

She lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like a 125 mph Venus serve....she was outta there...sorry if I pissed anyone off, but she lost...there was no plane flying over. No fan waving signs or cell phones going off. There was no ballperson running in the background. She lost. The same way Serena lost in the year end championships....Kim lost...oh well.

If Kim was sick then we would have heard she fell out at the baseline....she didn't...she was fit enough to get her ass whopped and she is fit enough to whoop some ass too. Stop making excuses for the girl........

When I think of life, sometimes my response is "Oh Damn!". But I still think of life anyway, "Oh Damn!!!"

Do Williams fans even read? No one in this thread said Kim was sick. I haven't seen ANYONE say that Kim was sick. Do you just make things up to seem like the victim? Or don't you read?

Please grow up, man. You seem really unable to accept the fact that people want some like Kimm to stop the Willams domination. You really sound immature. Every post of yours repeats the same thing. I'm sick and tired of your accusing people for overhyping Kim or any other player who can challenge the sisters. Hey, if I were you, I couldn't be happier with the sisters' accomplishments. Why bother? I would like to know why you give such a big shit about what others say?? You might think poeple who think Kim has a chance to beat either of the sisters are fuckin retards or something. We need players to stop the sisters for the sake of tennis for god's sake!!! As long as their domination continues, you will keep whinning about ppl overhyping non-willams players. get a life, dude.

Actually kim isn't trying to stop the sisters or the williams domination. She's trying to win tournaments and become number one. There's a difference. Kim has a head on her shoulders unlike Jen who succumbed to the "gwh" nonsense.

Kim played great in antwerp, Kim got beat. Much like during the summer hard court season of 02 when she faced venus twice in two back to back tournaments. Same two players, same results. Maybe since clay season is coming up kim will have a better chance, she did beat venus last year during hamburg right?

Anyway kim is a sweety and a talented player, I'm sure her grandslam is coming one day unless her father makes her retire at 23 like he said he would.

Well at 23 Kim is an adult, when she gets there, her father should have no control over her. Although it is sad that a lot of players on the tour rely on support from their parents, such as Hingis. Hopefully Kim will be able to think for herself.

I totally understand why parents want to be around when their child is playing underage, but there comes a time when they have to let these young women grow up! Its like they are living through their children at best or at worst controlling them like puppets or money making machines.

STOP TRYING TO LIVE THROUGH YOUR CHILD! GET YOUR OWN FREAKING LIFE!

I agree completely. I would get so mad at Martina when she would be losing and she'd look up at her mom. All that was doing was making thing's worse, because Molitor would act like Hingis commited a mortal sin by missing a shot, and Hingis would become emotionally unstable in a match. Another player like this is Anna Kournikova. Two of a kind.

Well I'll give melanie credit because she actually knew what she was doing unlike anna's mom who is just scary. Part of me always suspected that Melanie deep down wished it was her on the court winning grandslams and not her daughter. It was just something about the look she had sometimes in the stands. Oh well with todays technology maybe she can clone herself and then coach herself into a few grandslams

But I'm sure Kim knows what she needs right now is improve her game a notch to beat the sisters even if she doesn't admit it. Cuz the only obstacle for her to win a GS is the sisters. They are the only players she has to face as the underdog. She's very unlikely to lose someone ranked bellow her nowadays. Of course she's not the kinda player who underestimates her opponents. You can see her attitude toward every match from her records against lower ranked players. She really wastes no time demolishing those players. Of course, likes of Davenport, Capriati, Seles are always tough for her to beat but compared to the sisters, they are very "beatable". So I think she can focus on how to beat the sisters now. of course she doesnt play tennis just to beat the sisters.

I just want to know why some people get so pissed when someone overhypes Kim. Why bother to prove the sisters are so much better than Kim?? Everyone knows they are far ahead of Kim but it doesn't mean Kim has no chance to catch up to them. She's still improving and in the foreseeable future, she may be in the same league with them. Who knows?? It's good for the sport that people overhype up-coming players cuz that gives us more reasons to follow the sport doesnt it??
Plus, I dont think anyone of Kim's fans ever has done it in an offensive manner.

Mags, who beat Kim at wimbledon? Not Venus, not serena. Mags, who beat Kim at the US Open? Not venus, not serena. Who beat Kim at the French? Not Venus, Not serena.

My point is that there are SEVEN people between Kim and a grandslam not TWO.

Jen thought it was two and look where that attitude took her. Kim is much to smart for that. Beating Two people does not win you a tournament. It just doesn't.
