"Shocking" stat of the day?

It's not really a stat, but....

Serena won her first Grand Slam title 63 76[74] [99 US Open]

But she was up 63 54, serving.

Venus won her first Grand Slam title 63 76[73] [00 Wimbledon]

But she was up 63 54, serving.

I just found it odd...

they both got a little nervous

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

As I remember it... Serena held a pair of match points against the Hingis serve at 6/3, 5/3..

these sisters are so similar. it seems that they know "when they need a game" and they get it, they have that ability, and most of the time, they win the opening games of matches, or its even in the first set, and they deceide to run away with it. but yep, that is weird to see.

Nice job of them to hold it together in the tie-breaks I remember it well.

Yup, She had Hingis at 15-40 on her serve. She lost about 6 points straight afterwards. I believe Hingis broke her to 15.

And at the 6-5 game, Serena serving, Hingis held a set point

For Venus, at the 6-5 game, Venus was serving and got down 0-30...and there was a close call on the sideline for Davenport. Venus held to 30, and then won the tie break.
