Talking Scotsdale- Arizona: Main Draw, Lindsay to meet Serena in Semis

This is the draw of the State Farm Women's Women's Tennis Classic:

Serena WILLIAMS (USA) -- bye
Qualifier vs. Alexandra STEVENSON (USA)
Qualifier vs. Lisa RAYMOND (USA)
Mirjana LUCIC (CRO) vs. Nathalie DECHY (FRA)
Lindsay DAVENPORT (USA) -- bye
Qualifier vs. Ai SUGIYAMA (JPN)
Qualifier vs. Yoon-Jeong CHO (KOR)
Vera ZVONAREVA (RUS) vs. Eleni DANIILIDOU (GRE)
Elena BOVINA (RUS) vs. Francesca SCHIAVONE (ITA)
Silvia FARINA ELIA (ITA) vs. Janette HUSAROVA (SVK)
Meghann SHAUGHNESSY (USA) vs. Daja BEDANOVA (CZE)
Jelena DOKIC (YUG) -- Bye
Chanda RUBIN (USA) vs. Jill CRAYBAS (USA)
Barbara SCHETT (AUT) vs. Laura GRANVILLE (USA)
Cara BLACK (ZIM) vs. Tatiana PANOVA (RUS)
Kim CLIJSTERS (BEL) -- Bye

So I guess, if everything goes the way it should, Lindsay and Serena would meet. While Clijsters has a relatively easy way till the final.
So what do you think?? (Assuming they both get to the semis) Do you believe that Lindsay will play like she's got nothing to loose? Can Serena keep on being on the level she's been for so long? I don't know about you guys, but I'm happy they're both meeting, win or loose I know it'll be a great match.

Anyway, what do you think the upsets could be or who will be the surprise? Maybe Stevenson, or Zvoraneva.....

Lindsays quarter looks tough, if shes off her game i think any of those players could take advantage and beat her. If she meets Serena I think Serena will win because she's been playing so well recently, but it'll be tough if Serena is off her game. If Yoon Jeong Cho isnt tired from last week I think she can get through and cause Lindsay problems. Shaughnessy or Bovina will probably get to the semis from Dokics quarter.

I want to see a Bovina-Clijsters semi. That'd be interesting to see as would Zvonareva-Davenport. I hope it unfolds that way.

The WTAworld Quote Hall of Fame (recent entries):
"All this year Kim has been have catwalk draws ..." - leslie, on Kim Clijsters' easy draws in 2003
"I wanna see Anna, I bet I could tape that ass" - SerenaSlam, on fan perception of Anna K.
"n I am more of a retard, yes." - gogomaggie
"she has a face of a cereal killer" - Naldo, on Serena Williams

Indeed but it's possible that this time it would be not so close. If you consider their current form Clijsters should win in two sets, but of course you can not be sure.

I can't wait for this tournament, finally we get good TV coverage of a Tier II.

The draw is interesting, Serena and Lindsay would be a lot of fun, I have no doubts Rena would come out the winner, but it's still fun to watch her play Lindsay who is a great player, it'll be interesting to see how Lindsay performs should they meet...

Kim has a pretty safe way to the final, Dokic could give her trouble, IF she's playing well, and that's a big IF.
I would love to see a Serena vs Kim match, It'd be VERY INTERESTING to see how SErena would play, down in OZ she had sooo much pressure trying to win the SErena slam that she played far below her par, so she'd obviousley want to play better, but Kim would also like to avenge her loss.

Of Course, the world's #1 will probably still win the title but a good tournament none the less.

Current TV schedule:

State Farm Classic, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Feb. 28: ESPN2, 3:30 - 5 P.M.

March 1: ESPN2, 7:30 - 9 P.M.

March 2: ESPN2, 4 - 5:30 P.M.

I guess that means they're showing the SF and F.

PLEASE make the Semis, Lena! You've only been on TV twice in the US! I need more of you!

Some interesting match-ups- put it should go to 'plan'---
Go Rena, Bovina, Vera, Kimmie, Daja
Jenny is playing Indian Wells instead of Scotsdale this year!

I look forward to Lindsay doing well here. Hope she can surprise Serena. She can get one set for sure!

But it`s a bad draw! Semi: A classic Lindsay - Serena-match and in the bottom half a boring Clijsters - Dokic-match! I want Lindsay to be in the bottom half in expectation of a final between the US girls.
