I expected Mona to lose but I thought the match would be much closer than that. Petko looks like a bad match-up for her since she is so consistent and can hit the ball pretty hard from both wings. Needless to say that she is also a much better competitor than Mona. Mona needs her best tennis to beat a rock solid player like Andrea. She was clearly off today which explains the scoreline.

Anyway, well done to Andrea. Hope she goes far here.

Mona is simply not competitive, for Andrea doesn't have the game to dismiss Mona with 2, 2 scores. Maybe, Barthel should return to the ITF circuit in order to find herself, for this result is ridiculous and it's been this way since March.

Losing 4 games to Barthel these days?

Doesn't seem to be a convincing result for Petkovic.
Still a long way to go.

Indeed.

Unless Mona starts to find some kind of consistency, and that means, among other things, being a much better competitor, her chances of beating a player like Petkovic rest on the odd chance of everything clicking together in her game. Pretty unlikely as things stand with her at the moment.
