Hardened Hingis fans - Isn't General Messages such a surreal place now?

I mean, since Marti retired, I don't feel the need nor have the reason to argue with anyone anymore about tennis (except Baltacha, whose evil bands of haters riddle this board like woodworm)...

I must admit it is now quite funny to take a back seat on all this and see you all arguing, reminds me of how I was when I was a tearaway Marti fan, defending her against all the "haters"..

Just take time out to look at the bigger picture, we shouldn't hate eachother cos of the tennis players we like... well... I can point out some exceptions, but y'know, we should all just congregate as one and....

hold on I'm going soft here...

I was the same when Steffi retired - it just didn't seem like it was worth the effort anymore.....and it still doesn't.

I come here to find out the goings on in women's tennis - not to defend my fave.

Just like CNNSI - I stopped going there - I just didn't care enough anymore!

But it's no big tragedy - it's actually very liberating LOL!!

Larry Scott is a moron.

U know Joey I can understand u very well. I feel a huge empyness at the moment. As I said before women's tennis had died for me at the moment when I heard that Martina Hingis announced her retirement.
I don't really care anymore who is the greatest in the world and who had better record against Marti etc. I really don't care who says what. I just cannot believe that those Marti haters still cannot leave her alone they think that their mission of rubishing her is not accomplished yet and continue waste their time and energy saying that she would never win GS again she would never win against the sisters blah blah blah...
I mean it's just amaizing how evilish some ppl can be for such a long time

The loser is the one who failed to understand that it needs to stand up as many times as has fall not once less...

guess the reason why I defended steffi like crazy was because I only entered this board a week after she retired lol (and cnn months later.)

I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

Nah I think it's great that people still hate her with a passion, shows just how good she was that people can still hate something after the threat has gone!

But hey, it is nice not to argue...

So, you mean to say that there are bands of Baltacha-haters on this board then? I never realised that. Must have something to do with the glasses, or perhaps more likely her irritating habit of shouting "Die!" at the ball whenever she hits it, bless her. But she can at least challenge Venus in the serve speed department.

Bally-hate? Far from it, I assure you. The next great white hope of British tennis, of course not! It says a lot about the current state of the game in this country that Baltacha and on the men's side Bogdanovic, both touted as great prospects for the future, originally hail from foreign countries and have thus been brought up and coached differently to our own home-grown talent, but Elena has a great chance of doing well in my opinion. Trouble is, she keeps losing to that other well-known Elena - Likhovtseva that is, at both Eastbourne and Wimbledon last year.

Oh yeah well the LTA is a pathetic institution, it's ran by people who don't seem to have a clue what they are doing. It's an utter shambles.
