Question IF Kim Clijsters loses to Venus tomorrow...

[notice the big "IF"]
...what would you think the most important reason for her loss would be?

1)That she hasn't recovered from her "sickness"
2)That there is still a big talent gap between her and Venus
3)That there is too much pressure from the home crowd
4)That she hasn't recovered from her mental collapse at the AO semi
5)Other reason.

I think number (1) doesn't fly b/c we can see from the score of her matches today that she is more than okay. Although we have heared how kim has narrowed the gap b/n her and the sisters (and I think that is true), number (2) is plausible reason for her potential loss. Number (3) and (4) are too psychological for me so I don't know.
If you have think Number (5), please state why she would lose to venus. Thanks.

Because venus played better? had more break? Served well? Maybe kim made too many errors?Too passive?

No. It will be because Kim is sick.

Or it will be because Kim is tired... like a 95 year old woman in a 20 year old body.

Or it will be because she ate some bad seaweed.

Or it will be because her knee/shoulder/wrist hurt.

Or it will be because she had a blister.

Or.....

Well the list goes on.

Anyway if Kimmy loses, it will just be more of an incentive for her to work harder and harder on her game.

And she will still be sweet and nice and cute.

Starr, Kim has not yet reached her 20th birthday.

If Venus wins, it will be because Venus was the better player on that particular day. The result is never definate before the match is played. This is why people play

I think she is sick and has almost NO CHANCE tomorrow. But if she does win it will be even more impressive considering that she was vomiting last night.

I can see it now, the fans would blame the loss on her being sick.

I'm sorry, but if she can still beat Henin-Hardenne in straight sets, she is ready to play. Sickness isn't an excuse.

I know Kim wouldn't blame it on the sickness because she is a classy player, just like Venus.

Venus is going to do her utmost to win that match because she wants that Diamond racquet. One down two to go and she is even closer to getting that racquet.

No seriously. I don't put much stock in those excuses... even when they are valid. The better player on the day will win. If Kim beats Venus, it doesn't mean that Venus won't beat her on another day and vice versa.

#1-5 seem like all good and possible reasons for me. Maybe it's a combination of all of them...IF Kim loses.

We are not going to make excuses for Kim losing. Why should we? BUT we also are not going to listen to people saying that KIM is 100% healthy. We all know that Venus lost to kim at LA because of her injury and believe me Kim is not 100% here either. It sucks that they cannot both just be healthy. But that seems to be the exception rather than the rule these days in tennis.

That's my line...

Anyway, being "sick" is no excuse. If you can run, skip, hop, jump, yadda yadda... you're fine.

there will be no "IF" b/c kim "WONT" win, she is not in Venus williams class, and i would have to pick number 2, the gap between her and venus will always be this big, i see nothing kim has that is going to stop venus, you cannot and i repreat cannot, beat a playing, "get the ball back tennis" unless they are off! it has been said so many times, kim is going to have to come out going for her shots, and she is going to have to try and raise the level of her game, and if venus starts to make the errors, she can just keep the ball in play, like she did against Serena at the australian open. since when has a player beaten venus or serena getting the ball back while they are playing top level tennis. it doesn't work, it will only work for kim if venus is off her game. all kim does do is get the ball back in play against Venus and Serena, she cannot be aggressive, b/c venus and serena don't allow it!
